The reverse is correctly dated “10. Dezember 1938” and retains the facsimile signature A.H. The finish remains strong, with only light age toning and minimal handling wear.
This example is complete with its original full-length neck ribbon, displaying the correct blue and white striped pattern. The ribbon remains in very good condition and retains its original period safety pin attachment, marked “PRYM”, a known German manufacturer of sewing and fastening hardware commonly encountered on period ribbon fittings.
Housed in its original fitted presentation case, which features a dark blue exterior and a cream-colored interior with form-fitted recess. The case shows age and storage wear but remains structurally sound and presents very well. The lining on the inside has some stains and fraying at the hinge, but still works well to hold the cross. It is stamped by maker "Wilh. Deumer Kom.-Gos. Lüdenscheid".
A highly desirable, complete cased example of the Gold Mother’s Cross, by the well-known maker Deumer, and increasingly difficult to find in this condition.
