Original German WWII Motorcycle Gloves / Mittens Marked Size 9 1/2
Offered is an original matching pair of German WWII Kradfahrer (motorcyclist) winter mittens. These mittens feature the classic two-finger "trigger finger" design, allowing the wearer greater dexterity while operating a motorcycle or handling equipment in cold weather conditions.
Constructed with olive-green canvas backs and supple tan leather palms, the mittens retain their original leather adjustment straps with painted steel snap fasteners. The extended canvas gauntlets were designed to fit over the sleeves of a greatcoat or motorcycle protective clothing, helping to keep out wind and snow.
A faint size stamp of 9½ is visible within the gauntlet area, although no maker markings could be identified. The leather remains soft and flexible, showing honest service wear and age. The canvas exhibits scattered staining, minor discoloration, and light storage wear consistent with wartime use. All seams remain intact, and both adjustment straps are present and functional.
These mittens are often associated with German motorcycle troops, dispatch riders, and other personnel operating in severe winter conditions. Original examples remain increasingly difficult to locate, especially as a matching pair in solid, displayable condition.
Condition: Very good overall condition with honest wartime wear, scattered stains, and age-related use. Leather remains supple and the mittens display well and are a desirable large size.
