Original German WWII Heer Officer’s Infantry Visor Cap By G. Wostrack Size 57/58
Original German WWII Heer officer’s visor cap constructed from fine field-gray wool with a dark green wool center band. White wool piping around the crown and along the upper and lower edges of the center band identifies the cap as an Infantry officer’s example.
The front is fitted with a zinc Heer national eagle and an oak-leaf wreath surrounding the national cockade. Both insignia retain approximately 25% of their original silver finish, with the remaining surfaces exhibiting an attractive darkened patina. The cap is completed with a silver officer’s chin cord secured by matching pebbled side buttons.
The black visor exhibits age-related surface cracking and a noticeably worn area on its underside where the visor was repeatedly grasped while being worn. The interior retains its tan lining and leather sweatband. The sweatband displays staining and wear consistent with extended service use. The original celluloid sweat shield is missing, exposing the printed maker’s marking beneath: “G. Wostrack, Koblenz.”
The cap is approximately a size 57–58 and remains in very good overall condition. It displays honest service wear, including scattered light staining, several minor moth nips, wear to the visor, and age-related deterioration to the interior components. Despite these imperfections, the cap retains an attractive shape and presents as a genuine, well-used Infantry officer’s visor cap.
