Original German WWII Police Officer Sword/Degen By F.W. Höller With Scabbard

This is an original German WWII Police Officer sword produced by the well known Solingen maker F.W. Höller.

Blade:
The blade remains in very good to excellent condition, retaining much of its original matt finish. The Höller maker mark is clearly stamped. There is light surface wear, scattered spotting, and minor blemishes consistent with age and storage, but overall the blade presents very nicely. Still retains the leather blade washer.

Hilt:
The hilt features the police pattern with a wooden ribbed black painted grip bound by silver wire. The grip shows age related wear and patina, with some loss and darkening to the finish. The police eagle emblem is present and intact. The lower ferrule is nice with its six upward pointing oak leaves with acorns. The guard and backstrap display typical wear and light oxidation, but remain solid with good detail throughout. The knuckle bow is intact.

Scabbard:
The scabbard retains its original black painted finish, showing honest wear, scuffs, and areas of finish loss from period use. The metal fittings are intact, and the scabbard remains structurally sound with not dings or dents. Screws remain untouched.

Overall Condition:
A solid and honest example of a German WWII Police Officer sword by a desirable Solingen maker. Showing typical period wear, but complete and displaying well, an excellent addition to any collection.
