Original German WWII Pre-War .7 Liter M31 Canteen (No Cup) SKN 38
This is an original pre-war German M31 .7 liter canteen set, dated 1938 and marked “SKN 38,” representing early production prior to wartime material simplifications.
The canteen is missing its cup, but otherwise remains a very solid and attractive example. The brown felt cover is in excellent condition, showing only light age and use, and is clearly marked “SKN 38.” All snaps are present, functional, and secure.
The leather straps are supple and in very good condition, with only minor cracking and expected age wear. The leather is faintly marked “SKN 38,” and all components remain intact and correctly configured.
The aluminum flask shows honest field use, with typical handling marks but no damage or issues. It is not marked at the neck, which is seen on some examples. The screw cap is clearly marked “SKN 38” and retains its original rubber gasket.
Overall, this is a very nice pre-war dated M31 canteen set with matching maker-marked components, displaying desirable early construction and strong overall condition despite the missing cup.
