Original German WWII RLB (Reichsluftschutzbund) Woven Armband by BeVo-WuppertalThis is an original RLB (Reichsluftschutzbund) armband, worn by Luftschutz (Air Protection/Civil Defense) personnel. Early RLB armbands were dark blue with the full RLB star and initials, while these light blue variants with a white woven sunburst and black swastika were issued to lower-level air raid wardens, auxiliary helpers, and local civil defense personnel throughout the war.
The armband is constructed of a nice light blue cotton rayon. The central insignia features a high-quality machine woven white sunburst, with a sharply defined black swas. stitched on top. The woven stitching remains crisp and fully intact. The back of the armband is manufacturer marked/embroidered “Bevo-Wuppertal” indicating its manufacture by Bandfabrik Ewald Vorsteher in Wuppertal, Germany.
The armband shows staining throughout and age toning consistent with long term storage and use. This is unmarked. Overall remains in good condition.
