Original German WWII First Pattern RLB (Reichsluftschutzbund) Woven Armband By BeVo-Barmen

This is an original RLB (Reichsluftschutzbund) armband, worn by Luftschutz (Air Protection/Civil Defense) personnel. Early RLB armbands were dark blue with the full RLB star and initials, while these light blue variants with a white woven sunburst and black swastika were issued to lower-level air raid wardens, auxiliary helpers, and local civil defense personnel throughout the war.

Original first-pattern Reichsluftschutzbund (RLB) armband constructed from dark blue cotton, featuring a finely machine-woven white sunburst with sharply defined “RLB” lettering at its center and a swastika below. The woven insignia remains crisp and fully intact, contrasting nicely against the dark blue background.

The reverse bears the woven manufacturer’s marking “BEVO-BARMEN GES. GESCH.” indicating its manufacture by Bandfabrik Ewald Vorsteher in Barmen. The abbreviation “Ges. Gesch.” stands for gesetzlich geschützt, meaning legally protected.

A well preserved example that remains unissued and in excellent to mint condition.
