This is an original German WWII RLB (Reichsluftschutzbund – Reich Air Protection League) hanging banner, constructed of a wool-cotton blend fabric with a large logo emblem and central black swas. screenprinted. The upper edge is fitted with a reinforced suspension channel, complete with its original cord. Attached to each end of the cord by nail are small decorative wooden fittings, which appear to be original to the banner, although their exact purpose is unknown. It measures approximately 171.5 cm × 109 cm (67.5" × 43").
There is a visible manufacturer's tag identifying the maker as Joseph Fleck of Austria. The flag colors overall are still vibrant. There are scattered stains, holes, mothing, and various repairs throughout. We are unsure as to when the repairs were actually done. Despite this honest age and wear, the flag remains displayable and in good condition.
