Original German WWII Heer or Waffen SS Sheepskin-Lined Greatcoat (Mantel)-
A rare large-sized original German WWII winter overcoat issued to the Heer or Waffen SS. Constructed of fieldgray wool with dark gray leather-reinforced shoulders and side panels, and fully lined with natural sheepskin fleece for extreme cold-weather service. Features a button-in hood, double-breasted front with all pebbled buttons, and rear half-belt.
Inside the pocket are clearly visible wartime size and manufacturer markings, including “43” size numerals and a maker’s stamp, confirming genuine WWII production.
This example remains in very good, service-used condition, showing only light wear, a few minor moth nips, and some age toning to the wool and leather, consistent with field use and storage. The sheepskin lining remains complete, supple, and well-preserved.
An exceptionally scarce and desirable original winter combat overcoat, ideal for Eastern Front or Waffen SS winter displays.
