Rare Original German WWII Army/Luftwaffe Splinter A Late War Zeltbahn Tan Background Variant
This is a scarce and highly desirable late war example of a German WWII Splinter A pattern Zeltbahn, notable for its uncommon tan background camouflage. What makes this piece particularly rare is that both sides—the Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter patterns—display this tan base tone, a feature seldom encountered, especially on the Spring/Summer side.
Constructed of late-war cotton material, the Zeltbahn exhibits the typical simplified production characteristics of the period. It retains a correct mixture of zinc and bare steel three-hole dish buttons, all of which are present. The zinc grommets, both large and small, are also complete and intact.
The camouflage remains attractive with good contrast, showing the distinctive muted tones associated with late-war production. The Zeltbahn shows honest field use, including a few small holes and a minor period field repair in one corner, all consistent with wartime service.
Included are three original, well-used tie ropes, further enhancing its completeness and display appeal.
Overall, this is a rare late war variant Zeltbahn with desirable camouflage characteristics and complete hardware, an excellent example for the advanced collector looking for a less commonly encountered configuration. In very good to excellent condition.
