Original German WWI Black Wound Badge (Unmarked)
This is an original unmarked German WWII Black Wound Badge (Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz). The Black Wound Badge was instituted 1918 and was awarded to military personnel who sustained one or two combat wounds or suffered injuries while serving under enemy action.
The steel badge retains a majority of its original black finish, with very minimal finish loss on the front. The finish on the reverse is aged and there is some crackling. There are a few scattered spots of oxidation.
The reverse features the correct hardware all of which remain intact and fully functional. No maker code found.
Condition: Very good overall considering it's age.
