Original German WWII Heer M35 Ex-Double Decal Reissued Normandy Two-Tone Camouflaged Helmet Size 64

EXTERIOR
Original German WWII M35 Heer (Army) combat helmet in a size 64 shell, featuring a two-tone Normandy type camouflage finish. This example most likely began as a double decal helmet with factory apple green paint before being reissued with a brushed-on, textured dark fieldgray finish and a replacement zinc liner band.

The helmet was subsequently camouflaged with an ordnance tan base and green splotches applied over it. The Heer eagle decal may remain concealed beneath the later paint layers. The colors and pattern resemble camouflage associated with Fallschirmjäger Regiment 6 in Normandy, although this resemblance does not establish service with that unit.

The exterior shows scratches, scrapes, and paint loss consistent with combat use. The split pins retain a good amount of the camouflage paint.

INTERIOR
The interior skirt and underside of the visor display brushed-on, textured dark fieldgray paint, with portions of the earlier apple green finish still visible. A soldier’s partially preserved surname is painted in white at the rear.

The leather liner remains supple and has darkened to a deep brown through age and use. Its original drawstring is present. The unmarked leather chinstrap is original to the helmet and shows extensive wear and aging.

CONDITION
A complete, combat worn M35 helmet with a distinctive two-tone camouflage finish, visible layers of its earlier paint, and a partially preserved soldier’s name. The supple liner, original drawstring, and well-used chinstrap complement this example’s service-worn character.
