Original Imperial German WWI Zinc Heer (Army) Buckle Dated 1915 By G.H. Osang
A genuine Heer (Army) 2-piece construction WWI enlisted man’s belt buckle featuring the classic crowned center design with the motto “Gott Mit Uns” (“God With Us”) surrounding the central device. The roundel (crowned center) is a separately attached piece. This pattern was widely worn by Prussian and other Imperial German troops during the Great War.
We are unsure if the buckle was ever painted since there is no paint remaining on the surface. The surface shows age and honest wear. Despite this, the crown, lettering, and wreath details remain visible and defined. It appears there may be a crack on the right side edge of the roundel.
The reverse is nicely marked G.H. Osang and dated 1915. The original hardware is all intact. The hardware shows matching age and use but remains solid overall.
