Original German WWII Kriegsmarine Artillery Dienstglas 7x50 Binoculars "beh" With Carl Zeiss Leather Case, Filters & Accessories
Original German WWII Kriegsmarine artillery-issued Dienstglas 7x50 binoculars, manufactured by Ernst Leitz, Wetzlar and marked with the wartime maker code “beh.” The binoculars are correctly marked Dienstglas 7x50 and serial numbered, with the Kriegsmarine eagle with swastika in a wreath over “M” and “Artl.” designation, indicating issue to Kriegsmarine artillery (Marineartillerie) units. Also present is the “+” optical collimation mark, a standard military inspection indicator.
The binoculars retain their original blackened alloy bodies with pebbled leatherette coverings and show honest service wear consistent with wartime naval use. Optics are crystal clear, with no haze, fungus, or clouding. This example does not feature a rangefinder reticle, which is correct for many artillery and observation-issued Kriegsmarine binoculars. One eye cup is aluminum and the other is a hardened plastic.
The set includes the original leather neck strap in excellent condition and the correct leather button flap, maker marked “beh” and dated 1943. The binoculars are housed in their original Carl Zeiss Jena leather case, which is Waffenamt accepted and marked with the Kriegsmarine “M” designation. Something that goes into the top of the lid is missing. The case remains structurally sound with intact stitching, hardware and is in excellent condition.
Also included are two original pairs of tinted optical lens covers/filters, stored inside the case, intended to reduce glare during maritime and artillery observation.
