Original German WWII Leather Combat Belt Size 80 With Luftwaffe Steel Belt Buckle By G.H. Osang
A genuine and well-used example of a German WWII Luftwaffe enlisted/NCO belt and buckle set, featuring a steel buckle manufactured by G.H. Osang of Dresden. The buckle is clearly marked with the distinctive triangular “GHO” maker’s stamp beneath the eagle’s beak on the reverse, confirming its wartime production.
Constructed of steel, the buckle retains traces of its original blue-gray Luftwaffe finish, now worn to an attractive, untouched patina. The obverse features the Luftwaffe eagle clutching a swastika, set against a finely pebbled background and encircled by a detailed oak-leaf wreath. The reverse retains its original catch and double-prong assembly, both intact, showing honest wear and light oxidation consistent with age and service use.
The accompanying leather combat belt is size marked “80” on the tongue. The leather shows clear signs of period use, including surface wear, light cracking, and age-related patina throughout. Notably, the belt’s catch hook appears to be wartime steel with remnants of Luftwaffe blue paint still present, now exhibiting areas of oxidation and surface rust consistent with long-term use. The belt remains structurally sound and retains its original tab and stitching, with no alterations or repairs observed.
