Original German WWII Luftwaffe EM/NCO Brown Leather Combat Belt With Aluminum Buckle Both Dated 1939 With Belt Loop
Offered is an original German WWII Luftwaffe enlisted/NCO brown leather combat belt complete with its correct aluminum Luftwaffe buckle and original leather tab, all dating to the early war period of 1939. A strong, honest example showing typical service wear and correct wartime construction throughout.
The brown leather belt is size-marked 105 and is clearly dated 1939, consistent with early Luftwaffe issue. The interior of the belt retains a Bekleidungsamt depot acceptance marking “B.A.M. 11.39,” indicating inspection and acceptance by a military clothing depot in November 1939. In addition, the belt bears a faint oval private leather manufacturer’s trademark, with the company name at the top and town of manufacture at the bottom; due to wear and age it is faint, but is dated 1939.
The belt shows expected wartime wear, surface scuffing, and age toning. There is a partial cut near the buckle attachment area, an old period alteration often encountered on used combat belts; this has been fully disclosed and does not detract from the overall originality or display value.
The aluminum Luftwaffe buckle features the correct pebble-grain field with prominent Luftwaffe eagle within wreath. The reverse retains its original leather tab, maker-marked R. Sieper & Söhne, dated 1939, and stamped L.B.A. (Luftwaffe Bekleidungsamt), confirming official acceptance. The buckle was over painted tan at one time, consistent with field or theater modifications, often associated with tropical or North Africa service; remnants of this period paint remain visible on the front and back.
Also included is a matching brown leather belt loop, completing the set.
An excellent early-war Luftwaffe belt and buckle combination with desirable 1939 dates, correct depot and contractor markings, and authentic service wear, ideal for a Luftwaffe uniform display or advanced WWII German equipment collection.
