Original German WWII M35 Luftwaffe Ex-Double Decal Helmet EF64This is a nice example of an original German WWII M35 Luftwaffe ex-double decal helmet. The shell is marked EF64, indicating manufacture by Emaillierwerke Fulda and a size 64 shell.
EXTERIOR
The helmet retains a pleasing amount of its original smooth factory finish with honest field wear, scratches, and scattered areas of oxidation from age and service. The original Luftwaffe eagle decal remains approximately 75–80% intact, displaying good detail with expected wear throughout. Note: the eagle decal has been censored. The national tricolor shield on the right side was tampered with at some point after the war. Evidence of the original shield remains visible beneath the alteration, clearly showing where the decal once resided. The surrounding factory finish remains original.
INTERIOR
The helmet is fitted with its original aluminum-reinforced liner band. The dark brown leather liner is slightly dry around the edges of the liner band, and retains the original drawstring, but is slightly shortened. The split pins are all matching, appear untouched, and exhibit notable paint loss. Included is an original factory issued Luftwaffe brown leather chinstrap. The long strap has been repaired with thread, and the leather shows dryness from age and use. The shell interior is stamped 3765 and the maker mark EF64.
CONDITION
Overall, this is a well preserved helmet in good to very good condition. Someone could maybe purchase a high quality Tri-Color decal to restore this helmet?
