Original German WWII M35 Luftwaffe Double Decal Helmet ET66This is an excellent example of an original German WWII M35 Luftwaffe helmet featuring the early 1st Model “straight-leg” Luftwaffe eagle decal. The shell is marked ET66, indicating manufacture by Eisenhüttenwerk Thale and a size 66 shell. The Luftwaffe eagle decal remains approximately 95% intact, while the national Tri-Color decal retains about 40%, showing minor cracking throughout. The helmet retains roughly 85% of its original factory-applied Luftwaffe gray-blue paint, with most of the wear concentrated on the crown. Scattered surface rust, scratches, and wear are visible, consistent with age and combat use.The helmet is fitted with its original aluminum-reinforced liner band, dated 1938 and sized 59. The leather liner is supple, lightly aged to a tan-brown color, and retains the original drawstring. The split pins are all matching, appear untouched, and exhibit notable paint loss.Included is an original factory-issued Luftwaffe brown leather chinstrap. The long strap has broken and been shortened, and the leather shows dryness from age and use.Overall, this is a well-used but well-preserved Luftwaffe double decal M35 helmet in very good condition—an ideal piece for collectors seeking authenticity, character, and historical significance. Please note: Certain symbols have been censored.
