Unissued Original German WWII DRL Sports Badge in Bronze – Cloth Version
This is an Original WWII German DRL (Deutscher Reichsbund für Leibesübungen) Cloth Sports Badge in Bronze. The cloth version was intended to be sewn directly onto athletic or sporting clothing as an alternative to wearing the standard metal badge. The bronze grade represented the first level of the DRL Sports Badge, which was awarded upon successfully completing prescribed physical fitness requirements.
The embroidered design retaining strong color and excellent detail. The reverse shows some loose threads consistent with age and manufacture. There is very minor storage wear and some fraying around the unfinished edges of the backing material.
This unissued cloth badge has been nicely preserved and remains in excellent condition.
