*Rare* Unissued Original German WWII Deutsche Reichspost (DRP) 40cm Vehicle "Trolley" Eagle
The Deutsche Reichspost was Germany’s national postal service from 1871 until 1945. During the Third Reich period, these large eagles were used on postal buses and other official Reichspost vehicles. Collectors commonly refer to them as “trolley” or “tram” eagles.
This rare, unissued example is constructed of cast aluminum and retains exceptionally well-preserved details throughout. The silver-colored finish exhibits only a few scattered marks, little to no oxidation, and minimal age-related wear. The reverse displays a raised factory “V” marking on each wing. The factory mounting holes were pre-drilled, but mounting bolts were never installed. Measures approximately 40 cm (15 3/4") across the wings and 25.4 cm (10") in height. Reproduction DRP eagles are often encountered with one or two incorrectly oriented, upside-down “V” markings.
This original DRP vehicle eagle remains in mint, unissued condition and presents an outstanding visual appearance. Please refer to the photographs for additional details and an accurate representation of its condition.
