Original German Pre-WWII Early SS Dagger By Böker With Hanger

Offered here is an original early Model 1933 SS Dienstdolch manufactured by the highly desirable Solingen maker Böker. Early Böker-produced SS daggers are among the more sought-after examples by collectors, particularly when retaining their original nickel-silver fittings, anodized scabbard, and district-marked crossguard.

The dagger is fitted throughout with the correct early nickel-silver mounts, including the upper and lower crossguards, tang nut, and scabbard fittings. These fittings remain in very good to excellent condition, displaying an attractive age patina with only light handling wear. The pommel nut remains untouched.

The grip is the correct early black-stained hardwood type and remains solid with an excellent fit to both crossguards. The wood shows honest age and handling wear and retains a pleasing dark appearance. There is one small chip located at the lower corner of the grip, noted only for accuracy. The enamel SS runic roundel remains properly seated and exhibits the desirable early “fat” style runes commonly encountered on Böker daggers. The high-neck eagle is sharply detailed, perfectly fitted, and undisturbed, exhibiting the characteristics typically associated with original Böker production.

The reverse of the lower crossguard bears a stamped Roman numeral “I”, denoting SS District I (Munich).

The blade is in excellent condition overall and remains exceptionally attractive. It retains prominent crossgraining on both sides and exhibits only typical runner marks and minor handling scratches. The edge shows a few tiny nicks from contact with a hard object, but these are minor and do not detract from the overall presentation. The obverse bears the SS motto “Meine Ehre heißt Treue”, with the remaining etch displaying the correct letter style, spacing, and layout associated with Böker manufacture. The reverse ricasso is marked with the desirable Böker tree trademark, which remains crisp and well defined.

The dagger is housed in its correct early anodized scabbard fitted with matching nickel-silver mounts, a configuration commonly encountered on early Böker-produced SS daggers. The scabbard retains much of its original dark anodized finish, showing expected age, light wear, scattered areas of mild surface rust, and a slight dent to the reverse. All fittings remain secure, and present well. Retains all screws and remain untouched.

Also included is an early black leather SS hanger. The hanger remains complete with its nickel-silver hardware and is of the type typically found unmarked. It displays honest age and wear consistent with the dagger.

Overall, this is a highly desirable early Böker SS dagger featuring original nickel-silver fittings, a district-marked Munich crossguard, attractive grip components, an excellent motto blade with strong crossgrain, correct anodized scabbard, and an original early hanger. A very good to excellent example from one of the more respected and collectible SS dagger manufacturers.
