Original German WWII “Der Hitlerjunge Quex” Book By Karl Aloys Schenzinger
This is an original Third Reich-era copy of Der Hitlerjunge Quex (“Hitler Youth Quex”), written by Karl Aloys Schenzinger and published by Zeitgeschichte–Verlag Wilhelm Andermann of Berlin.
Originally published in 1932, the novel tells the story of a young boy who becomes involved with the Hitler Youth. The book became one of the best-known works of National Socialist youth propaganda and was adapted into a motion picture in 1933.
This is a later period printing identified as the 225th–244th thousand printing. It features tan marbled hardcover boards with a red cloth spine bearing the author’s name and title in silver lettering. The text is printed in traditional Gothic-style German script.
The original illustrated dust jacket is missing. However, the hardcover binding remains tight and the interior pages are clean and well preserved, showing only minor age toning and scattered light wear. Overall, the book remains in excellent condition considering its age.
