Original German WWII NSDAP 10-Year Long Service Medal With Original Ribbon And Presentation Case
This is an original German Third Reich NSDAP 10-Year Long Service Medal (NSDAP Dienstauszeichnung 2. Stufe), complete with its original ribbon and matching presentation case. Instituted on 2 April 1939, the award recognized ten years of loyal and uninterrupted service to the National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP).
Manufactured from zinc with a bronze finish, this wartime-produced example features the national eagle clutching a wreath enclosing the swastika, superimposed over a radiating sunburst and Maltese cross on the obverse. The reverse bears the inscription "Treue für Führer und Volk" ("Loyalty to Leader and People") within an oak leaf wreath.
The medal remains in very attractive condition. The obverse has experienced moderate finish wear, exposing the underlying gray zinc on the raised surfaces while still retaining traces of its original bronze finish in the protected recesses. In contrast, the reverse retains the majority of its original bronze finish, giving the award an attractive two-tone appearance with excellent depth and detail. All design elements remain sharply defined with only honest age and handling wear.
The original suspension ring remains intact and is fitted with its correct brown ribbon with white edge stripes. The ribbon retains strong original color, though there is some fraying visible on the reverse fold from age and storage.
Also included is the original brown pebbled presentation case, embossed in gold on the lid with the national eagle and wreath emblem. The case remains structurally sound with its original fitted insert and shows expected light to moderate handling and storage wear consistent with its age.
A desirable complete cased example of the NSDAP 10-Year Long Service Medal, exhibiting excellent detail, strong reverse finish, and honest wartime character. It would make a fine addition to any advanced collection of original German Third Reich awards.
