Original German WWII NSDAP Political Leader Armband Reich Level Official 1939 Pattern RZM Tagged

In Germany, armbands were worn by members of organizations such as the NSDAP, SA, SS, HJ, and various civil or auxiliary groups so they could be recognized at a glance.

This is an original NSDAP Political Leader armband introduced following the 1939 reorganization of Party insignia. The armband is constructed of red wool and features a white roundel bearing a black ribbed rayon swastika outlined with twisted gold bullion braid. The roundel itself is bordered with matching bullion cord.

The upper and lower edges of the armband are decorated with machine-woven gold oak-leaf borders on red bands, a distinctive feature reserved for NSDAP Political Leaders (Politische Leiter). White piping along the top and bottom edges denotes service at the Reich administrative level, indicating the armband was worn by an official attached to the Reichsleitung of the National Socialist Party.

The reverse retains its original RZM control label marked “RZM M4/343 – Reichszeugmeisterei der NSDAP”, confirming officially approved Party production. Also visible is a faint “oben” (top) orientation marking with arrow, used to indicate the correct wearing position on the sleeve. The armband remains open and unsewn, consistent with issued examples that were intended to be fitted to the wearer’s uniform.

Overall the armband remains in mint to excellent condition with strong color and attractive display appeal.
