Original US WWII Amy Olive Drab Wool Blanket Dated 1940
Classic and desirable example of a WWII U.S. Army issued olive drab wool blanket, as used by American troops throughout the war. Constructed of heavy wool, these blankets were an essential piece of field gear, providing warmth in a wide range of conditions.
A nice early-war example of a U.S. Army issued olive drab wool blanket, clearly dated 1940, making it a desirable pre-war/early WWII piece. These blankets were standard issue to American troops and saw extensive service throughout the war.
This example retains its original Quartermaster tag, showing contract information and 1940 date, which is becoming increasingly harder to find intact. The blanket appears to have once had a soldier’s name tag sewn onto it, as evidenced by stitch marks and slight shadowing where it was later removed.
Condition is overall very good, with honest age and service wear. The wool remains solid and displays well, with typical storage and use marks consistent with its age. No major damage noted beyond light wear.
A strong early-war dated example with clear signs of issue and use, great for collectors looking for an original, untouched WWII U.S. Army blanket with character.
