Original U.S. WWII Army Officer Four Pocket Class A Service Uniform 1st Lieutenant

A very attractive and well-preserved WWII U.S. Army officer’s four-pocket service uniform, correctly tailored and rank-insignia for a First Lieutenant. The olive drab officer’s coat features the classic four-pocket configuration with gilt U.S. Army eagle buttons, matching waist belt with brass buckle, and correct officer-quality wool construction.

The lapels retain original “U.S.” collar insignia, and the uniform is properly appointed with a Medical Department officer insignia on the left lapel. Rank is denoted by a single gold First Lieutenant bar, worn on the included officer’s overseas cap. The left chest displays a period ribbon bar, neatly mounted and consistent with wartime wear.

Inside, the jacket is fully lined in rayon and retains its original Rogers Peet Company tailor label, marked New York–Boston, a well known high quality civilian tailor that produced officer uniforms throughout WWII. The lining shows honest age and light staining consistent with use, with no major damage noted. Approximately a size 40.

Original U.S. Army officer’s overseas (garrison) cap in olive drab wool, tailored by Rogers Peet Company, New York–Boston, same maker as the uniform. The cap features correct gold-and-black officer piping and retains its original First Lieutenant gold bar insignia. Interior is fully lined and clearly marked with the Rogers Peet maker stamp. Shows light, honest wear consistent with wartime use and age, with no major damage. Size tag is missing, but is approximately a size 6 7/8.

This offering includes the original khaki service shirt, issued handkerchief, and period War Department ID card, all matching and correctly associated with the previously shown WWII U.S. Army First Lieutenant officer uniform.

The service shirt is the correct WWII Army officer pattern in khaki cotton, featuring a button-front closure, pointed collar, shoulder epaulettes with button fasteners, and dual chest pockets with flaps. The shirt retains its original brown plastic buttons and shows expected period wear and light staining consistent with wartime use and age. The fabric remains solid with no major tears or repairs noted.

The interior retains the correct Regulation Army Officer’s Shirt label, size marked 15 /34, clearly visible and original to the garment. Overall, the shirt displays very well and is an excellent companion piece to the officer’s service coat.

Also included is the original U.S. Army issue handkerchief, olive drab in color, with visible Quartermaster-style stenciling and honest storage wear. Completing the grouping is the original War Department identification card, issued to the officer and showing period wear consistent with use. The ID card remains intact with clear photograph and legible details.

A desirable and increasingly difficult-to-find complete officer grouping, with shirt, personal effects, and ID card all surviving together. An excellent addition for display alongside the First Lieutenant four-pocket service uniform, or as a stand-alone U.S. WWII officer grouping with strong historical presence.
