Original US WWII “In Service U.S. Army” Sweetheart Pillow Cover 21" x 18"
An original patriotic “Sweetheart” pillow cover featuring a beautifully embroidered American eagle clutching an olive branch above crossed 48-star U.S. flags and shield. Below the design is the script “In Service U.S. Army,” making this a classic wartime home front or soldier souvenir piece dating to the Second World War era.
The pillow cover is constructed of satin-like material to the front with a purple backing and is finished with an attractive yellow fringe border around the edges. The central artwork is multi-colored vibrant wartime patriotic imagery. The reverse is plain with no additional artwork, but does have some small holes. Measuring approximately 21" x 18", the piece displays nicely and would make an excellent addition to any WWII US Army collection.
Overall condition is very good, showing honest age and storage wear consistent with period use.
