Original U.S. WWII Bulova Ordnance Department Wrist Watch Restored & Running Condition
This is an original U.S. World War II Bulova wristwatch, manufactured for military use and marked on the case back:
"ORD. DEPT. U.S.A. OF 714B BULOVA WATCH CO."
Bulova was one of several American watch manufacturers that supplied reliable timepieces to the U.S. military during WWII. Accurate timekeeping was essential for coordinating troop movements, artillery barrages, air operations, and countless other battlefield functions. These military-issued watches were built for durability and simplicity, featuring highly legible dials and robust movements designed to withstand the rigors of wartime service.
The watch features an attractive black dial with bold Arabic numerals, luminous-style hands, and a subsidiary seconds dial at the 6 o'clock position. The dial remains exceptionally well preserved with excellent contrast and clear markings throughout. The original crystal is present and displays only minor age-related wear. The case retains its original finish with honest service wear, scattered scratches, and areas of age-related oxidation consistent with decades of use and storage.
Unlike many surviving examples, this watch was professionally serviced and restored by Watch Repairs USA. Following restoration, the watch is in excellent working condition, running properly and ready for display or careful wear. Documentation of the restoration can be provided separately if available.
The watch is offered without a wrist strap, allowing the next owner to fit a period-correct military strap or leather band of their choice. The fixed lugs remain intact and undamaged.
Overall, this is a desirable original U.S. WWII military Bulova wristwatch that combines historical significance with professional restoration and dependable operation. Military-marked Bulova watches remain highly sought after by collectors of WWII militaria, military timepieces, and vintage American watches, making this an excellent addition to any advanced collection.
