Original US WWII M1 Experimental Carbine Hip Holster Dated 1943
This is a rare original WWII US Experimental M1 Carbine Hip Holster, manufactured by JQMD and clearly dated 1943.
The short holster was specifically designed for troops that could not be encumbered by carrying a rifle over the shoulder with a sling or in their hands. The short holster allowed the user to have both hands free by allowing the M1936 pistol belt to slide between the scabbard and the canvas heavy hip pad so the soldier could wear his carbine on his hip (cross draw).
The holster remains in very good condition. The webbing is strong and retains good khaki color. All rivets and hardware remain intact and secure. There are a few minor stains and light handling marks visible due to use and storage.
