Original US WWII M1936 Musette Bag with General Purpose Strap–Both Dated 1942
This is an authentic M1936 Musette Bag, manufactured by Atlantic Products Corp, dated 1942. Constructed of durable khaki canvas, it features the standard “U.S.” stencil on the front flap, dual strap-and-buckle closures, and metal hardware. The bag was designed as a personal field pack for officers, paratroopers, and certain enlisted troops during WWII. Its purpose was to carry essential gear and personal items when a full haversack or pack wasn’t practical.
The interior is divided into two main compartments, including a smaller inner pocket for documents or field gear. The adjustable web shoulder straps are missing. At some point in time a General Purpose shoulder strap was attached. The strap is marked and dated 1942. It is in very good used condition.
This bag shows moderate wear, staining, and surface soiling consistent with wartime use and storage. There are a no holes. All stitching remains solid. It is in very good to excellent condition.
