Original U.S. WWI Canteen Dated 1918
This is an original U.S. Army M1910 canteen set consisting of the aluminum canteen, aluminum cup, and cover.
The aluminum canteen retains its original screw cap (with gasket) with retaining chain. Unfortunately the end of the chain is broken off and it's possible that it could be repaired. The body exhibits honest field wear, handling marks, and age-related patina. The accompanying aluminum cup remains serviceable. The interior of the cup shows oxidation and surface corrosion from age and storage. Both are faintly marked and dated 1918.
The canvas cover shows usual handling marks along with fading and stains. It's still in usable condition. The lift-the-dots are still intact and functioning. The wire belt hooks remain securely attached. The cover is also marked and dated 1918.
This set is in good overall condition with typical age and service wear.
