Unissued Original U.S. WWII AAF Cloth Map Asiatic Series – No. 32 (French Indo China), No. 33 (Central China)
This is an original unissued U.S. WWII Army Air Forces (AAF) Asiatic Series double sided cloth escape/navigation map, featuring No. 32 French Indo-China on one side and No. 33 Central China on the reverse. Printed on lightweight rayon cloth, these maps were designed to withstand repeated folding and handling in the field. Unlike traditional paper maps, they could be compactly carried and were far less susceptible to tearing or damage from moisture.
No. 32 French Indo China provides detailed period cartography of French Indo China and the surrounding region, while the reverse No. 33 Central China covers a broad section of Central China. Both sides display detailed geographic and navigational information including cities, transportation routes, rivers, coastlines, terrain features, and other important reference points.
This example is in near mint condition, remaining exceptionally clean and well preserved with strong, vibrant printing throughout. It shows little, if any, yellowing and no evidence of actual field use.
