Original U.S. WWII France/Germany Cloth Evasion Map & Various Personal Items *U.S. Vet Bringback*
Offered here is an interesting grouping of original WWII items brought home by a U.S. Veteran. We purchased a much larger collection of items directly from the Veteran's son, providing excellent family provenance to the grouping.
1. WWII RAF France / Germany double sided cloth escape map. This double sided RAF cloth escape map covering France and Germany. Constructed of lightweight rayon cloth, these maps were designed for Allied aircrew and could be easily folded and carried in the event they were forced down in enemy territory. This example remains in excellent condition, showing only slight yellowing from age and a few small stains.
2. WWII 9th Army Air Force Sleeve Patch in excellent condition.
3. WWII Pocket size Technical Manual "German Language Guide" with personal inscription dated 6/10/45 confirming his time in Germany until 1/25/46. Shows typical age related wear.
4. Waltham open face pocket watch, Serial No. 13810681, Model 1883, dating to approximately 1904. The watch is currently not running and will require servicing or repair. It is being offered as is.
5. Small cigarette lighter. This accompanied the Veteran's personal effects. The lighter is currently not working and is in need of repair. It is being offered as is.
Please refer to photos for more details. This is a very nice and personal grouping that would make an excellent addition to a WWII U.S. Army Air Forces collection.
