Original German WWII Leader Profile Relief Wall Plaque by Schmidt-Hofer
This Original plaque depicts a left-facing profile of A.H. in high-relief form, executed in silver-toned metal and mounted to a wooden plaque. The metal portrait shows strong sculptural detail in the facial features and hair, with natural age toning and patina consistent with period production. We believe the wooden backing was replaced Post War. The metal relief remains securely affixed to the board.
Condition is good overall with honest age and surface wear. A good amount of silver finish is missing. The “Schmidt-Hofer” signature is visible along the lower edge of the portrait.
Measures approximately 32cm x 25cm (12.75"H x 10"W).
We believe this plaque to be an original period example based on sharp, well-defined details throughout and the construction, materials, and execution.
