Original US WWI M1910 Mis-Matched Cartridge Belt by Russell & Mills (Dated 1918)
This is an original Model 1910 Mis-Matched Cartridge Belt, manufactured by Russell and Mills, and clearly dated 1918. The belt is constructed of heavy woven khaki webbing with ten individual ammunition pockets, each secured by Lift-the-Dot fasteners.
The inside flap is stamped “RUSSELL 1918” and “MILLS”, which was most likely put together from other belts that were damaged or just mis-matched and there were two primary government contractors during late World War I. The belt retains its brass grommets and hardware, showing a darkened patina from age and service use.
The webbing remains strong and pliable, showing moderate field wear, light fraying, and surface discoloration typical of combat or long-term storage. Overall in solid, used and in very good condition. Would be appropriate for use or display.
