This is an original German WWII Waffen SS Enlisted/NCO steel belt buckle attributed to Overhoff & Cie., of Lüdenscheid. Although the buckle is unmarked, it is attributed to Overhoff & Cie. based on its distinctive die characteristics, hardware configuration, and overall construction, which are consistent with known wartime examples produced by the firm.
The buckle is constructed of stamped steel and features the classic Waffen SS design consisting of the SS motto "Meine Ehre heißt Treue" surrounding a central SS runic emblem within a wreath, surmounted by a national eagle. The details remain crisp and well defined throughout, with excellent clarity to both the lettering and emblem.
The buckle retains a pleasing wartime appearance with moderate surface wear, scattered oxidation, and areas of rust patina consistent with age and service use. Traces of the original finish remain visible, while the obverse exhibits attractive age toning. The reverse shows similar honest wear, with all hardware remaining intact and fully functional.
Overall, this buckle remains in very good, functional condition with honest period wear and a pleasing, original appearance.
