These specific collar tabs were utilized for unit identification by the division formed in 1944, which consisted primarily of Hungarian ethnic Germans.
This unissued example is of the desirable Dachau-made variety, featuring characteristic period construction with fine machine embroidery on ribbed black wool and the original stiffener retained on the reverse. The embroidery remains crisp and well defined.
The tab shows slightest age and handling, while the reverse retains its original stitching and construction details. Overall, it remains in excellent condition and displays very well.
