Original German WWII War Merit Cross 1st Class Without Swords Marked “1” By Deschler & Sohn With Case

An original German WWII War Merit Cross First Class without Swords (Kriegsverdienstkreuz 1. KlasseohneSchwerter), awarded for meritorious service not directly connected with combat. This example is manufactured by Deschler & Sohn of München, identified by the correct “1” maker mark stamped on the reverse of the pin.

The cross features a silvered, pebbled finish to the arms with a frosted appearance, crisp beading to the central wreath, and a well-defined swastika. The finish shows honest age toning and light oxidation consistent with period wear, with no evidence of postwar cleaning. Reverse retains its original vertical pinback assembly with hinge and catch intact and functional.

Accompanied by its original black pebbled presentation case, featuring a silver War Merit Cross emblem on the lid. The interior retains its black velvet base and white silk-style lid liner. The case shows expected age wear to the exterior edges and corners, but remains solid and complete.

A desirable, correctly marked example from a well-known maker, offered with its original case, an excellent addition to any Third Reich awards collection.
