This is an original German WWII War Merit Cross 2nd Class (Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse) without swords, awarded for merit in support of the war effort not directly involving combat.
The cross is constructed in the standard bronze-finished alloy and features the classic eight-pointed design with pebbled fields and smooth borders. The obverse displays a central roundel with a mobile swas. surrounded by an oak leaf wreath, while the reverse features the date “1939”, denoting the institution of the award. This award displays a nice aged finish and details.
The suspension ring is clearly maker marked “75”, identifying production by Julius Maurer, Oberstein an der Nahe, a known and desirable manufacturer. The original ribbon is present, displaying vibrant colors and minimal wear.
Overall condition is very good to excellent.
