This is an original German WWII issue packet (Verleihungstüte) for the War Merit Cross 2nd Class without swords (Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse ohne Schwerter).
The front is printed:
“Kriegs-Verdienstkreuz 2. Klasse ohne Schwerter”, clearly identifying the contents as the non-combat version of the award. The packet is constructed of light brown wartime paper stock.
The reverse is stamped:
“Gebr. Bender, Oberstein / Nahe”, a known manufacturer and supplier of Third Reich award packets and accessories.
Condition shows honest age and storage wear, including creasing, edge wear, and light tearing, as commonly encountered with these thin paper packets. Despite this, the packet remains intact, fully legible, and displays well.
