Original German Reichswehr period enlisted man’s aluminum belt buckle, dating to the interwar era (circa 1927–1935). This example features the classic “GOTT MIT UNS” legend surrounding the Reichswehr-style eagle and wreath, set on a finely pebbled field. The obverse displays correct early strike characteristics, with well-defined lettering, rope border, and period eagle design unique to the Reichswehr period and distinct from later Heer buckles.
The reverse shows correct early construction, with an integral catch and roller bar assembly typical of Reichswehr manufacture. The buckle exhibits honest age wear, oxidation, and toning, consistent with its age and long service life, with no repairs or alterations noted.
A nice example of an increasingly scarce Reichswehr aluminum belt buckle, representing the transitional period between Imperial and WWII-era German military equipment.
