This authentic Bundeswehr Gas Cape Bag (Gasplane Tasche) was designed to carry a "Gas Cape" (Gasplane)—a protective fabric used by soldiers to shield themselves from chemical gas attacks during combat. The pouch itself is constructed from rubberized material
The pouch itself is constructed from rubberized material. The exterior shows age related wear and creases, typical of use and long term storage. The flap is secured by 2 buttons, both present and firmly attached. The reverse side features 2 attached web loops. The underside of the flap is marked and there is a originallabel marked “Fritz Stöver,” identifying the serviceman to whom the pouch belonged.
