Refurbished Original US WWII M1 Swivel Bale Helmet With Mine Safety Appliance (MSA) Liner
EXTERIOR
This is an original U.S. WWII M1 swivel bale helmet shell that was refurbished and repainted in a textured olive drab finish. The shell retains its original swivel chinstrap bales and is fitted with its original khaki web chinstrap with correct period hardware. The exterior finish remains attractive overall, displaying light service wear, scattered scuffs, and minor paint loss along the rim consistent with age and handling.
The interior of the shell appears to retain its original factory-applied olive drab paint, showing honest wear from use and storage.
INTERIOR
The helmet is paired with an original Mine Safety Appliance Company (MSA) liner, clearly marked with the MSA logo and size "20." The liner retains its original suspension system and original nape neck strap. The headband and liner chinstrap are no longer present.
The liner appears to have received a post-war repaint or not and remains in solid condition. The suspension webbing is complete and functional, exhibiting hardly any wear.
CONDITION
A nice example of a refurbished U.S. WWII M1 swivel bale helmet complete with an original MSA liner. The shell retains its original chinstrap and appears structurally sound throughout, while the liner remains complete with its original suspension and neck strap. Although the liner is missing its headband and chinstrap, the set displays very well and remains in very good condition overall. A solid representative M1 helmet suitable for display or collection.
