Original German Pre-WWII H*tler's Dank WHW (Winterhilfswerk) Tinnie / Badges (2 pieces)
A "tinnie" is a small, inexpensive badge or pin produced in large quantities by the NSDAP (1933-1945) to commemorate a wide variety of events, rallies, and fundraising efforts. Despite the name "tinnie," they were made from various materials including metal (aluminum, tin), plastic, glass, wood, or even pressed leather. There are estimated to be over 8,000 different designs of WHW items, ranging from regional crests to fairy tale characters.
The first tinnie is a 1933-1934 Winterhilfswerk (Donation Campaign) "Hitler's Dank (Thanks) - Gau Westfalen-Nord' Badge". The reverse is marked "Paulmann & Crone". There is some sort of residue stuck which is most likely covering the other marking "Ges Gesch". We did not attempt to remove the residue, its possible it could be removed? The pinback is intact.
The second tinnie is another Winterhilfswerk (Donation Campaign) "Hitler's Dank (Thanks) - Fur Den Dienst Am Volke" Badge". The reverse is marked "Paulmann & Crone" and "Ges Gesch". The pinback is intact.
Both pieces exhibit honest age and wear, along with some oxidation consistent with age. Please refer to the photographs for additional details and actual condition. Sold as a set.
