Original German Pre-WWII "1939 Reichsnährstand/Blut und Boden Leipzig Exhibition" Tinnie Badge by Otto Fechler
A "tinnie" is a small, inexpensive badge or pin produced in large quantities by the NSDAP (1933-1945) to commemorate a wide variety of events, rallies, and fundraising efforts. Despite the name "tinnie," they were made from various materials including metal (aluminum, tin), plastic, glass, wood, or even pressed leather. There are estimated to be over 8,000 different designs of WHW items, ranging from regional crests to fairy tale characters.
The Reichsnährstand was responsible for organizing and overseeing Germany's agricultural production and regularly sponsored exhibitions promoting farming, rural life, and agricultural self-sufficiency.
This aluminum badge is in very good condition. The pinback is intact. It has a nice patina and shows typical age-wear. It is maker marked on the reverse.
