Original German WWII Luftwaffe Steel Belt Buckle With Early Brown Leather Belt Size 95
Offered is an original German WWII Luftwaffe enlisted/NCO belt and buckle set, consisting of a steel Luftwaffe belt buckle with leather tab paired with its early/pre-war brown leather belt, size marked 95.
The buckle is of stamped steel construction, featuring the classic Luftwaffe eagle in flight clutching a swastika, set within a pebbled field and encircled by an oak-leaf wreath. The buckle is missing a good amount of its original factory paint finish with areas of honest wear, oxidation, and patina consistent with age and service the observe. The reverse has about 90% of the original factory Luftwaffe blue paint, is fitted with its original leather tab, which is maker marked, though the stamp is no longer legible, a not uncommon occurrence due to age and wear.
The accompanying brown leather belt is a desirable early Luftwaffe example, a little stiff, but still supple, showing a rich, darkened patina from years of use. The belt is size marked 95 and remains supple, with typical service wear throughout. The aluminum belt catch/hook is present and correct, showing light wear and oxidation consistent with the rest of the set. The belt is not marked.
Notably, the tongue section for the buckle prongs has been removed and reattached at some point, utilizing the original factory stitch holes, which remain visible. This period-style repair does not detract from the overall display value and reflects typical field or post-service maintenance often encountered on original belts.
Condition overall is good to very good, with honest wear, age toning, and signs of service use throughout. No modern repairs or alterations are noted beyond the aforementioned reattachment of the tongue.
A solid, complete Luftwaffe belt and buckle set with desirable early characteristics, ideal for display, mannequin use, or as a representative example in a WWII German collection.
