Original German WWII Police Black Vulcanfibre Shako Size 58
Original German WWII Police shako constructed with a black Vulcanfibre crown, band, and front and rear visors. The undersides of both visors are finished in green and display the characteristic waffle-patterned surface typically used up to the end of the war.
The front is fitted with a large silver-finished aluminum Police eagle and wreath insignia. Positioned above the eagle is the national cockade in black, silver, and red. Each side of the crown features two screened ventilation openings. The black leather chinstrap with brass fittings is a modern reproduction.
The interior retains its original eight-finger tan leather liner, complete with the original adjustment cord. The liner is clearly stamped with the desirable large size “58.” The manufacturer’s label is no longer present and appears to have been removed or lost over time.
The shako remains in excellent overall condition, exhibiting only light age and service wear consistent with an original period example. A very attractive and displayable German Police shako in the harder to find large size 58.
