Original German WWII Mid To Late War k98 Chain Pull-Through
This is an original German WWII Karabiner 98k (K98) rifle chain pull-through, representative of mid- to late-war production. The pull-through is constructed with the correct steel link chain fitted with cylindrical zinc rollers, a material combination increasingly encountered as wartime shortages necessitated the use of zinc in place of earlier brass or aluminum components. The terminal end retains the proper elongated steel loop, used for attaching a cleaning cloth or patch for bore maintenance.
The chain shows honest period wear and oxidation consistent with age and service use, with the zinc rollers displaying typical dull grey toning and surface patina. All links and rollers remain intact, with no breaks or modern repairs observed. This type of pull-through would have been carried by Wehrmacht soldiers as part of the standard K98 rifle cleaning kit and represents a correct, original example suitable for completing a mid- to late-war German K98 field gear display.
