Original U.S. WWI Web Gear Grouping Of M1910 Web Belt, M1911 Magazine Pouch & Canteen Set
This is an original U.S. World War I field gear grouping consisting of an M1910 web belt, M1911 double magazine pouch, and canteen with cover, all acquired together as a set. The components display matching age, wear, and patina, making for an attractive representative WWI-era equipment lot.
The khaki web M1910 pistol belt remains complete and retains its original brass hardware, adjustment fittings, and eyelets. The belt is maker-marked Mills Woven Cartridge Belt Co., Worcester, Mass., U.S.A. on the brass buckle plate. The webbing shows honest service wear, scattered staining, fraying to some edges, and oxidation to portions of the brass hardware, all consistent with age and field use.
Included is an original M1911 double magazine pouch for carrying two spare magazines for the Colt M1911 pistol. The pouch is marked Russell Manufacturing Co. and dated 1918 beneath the flap. It retains both original Lift-the-Dot fasteners and internal magazine compartments. The pouch exhibits notable service wear, including fraying along the edges and scattered discoloration, but remains solid and displayable.
Also included is an original U.S. canteen and cover. The khaki canvas cover retains a clear "U.S." marking on the front and remains in very good condition overall, showing expected staining and age-related wear. The aluminum canteen is marked "U.S. L.F.&C. 1918" (Landers, Frary & Clark) and retains its original screw cap, but missing the cork and does have the chain. The canteen displays typical handling marks and light dents from service use. Please note that the canteen cup is not included with this set.
Overall, this is a desirable and honest U.S. WWI web gear grouping featuring three iconic pieces of American field equipment, all showing genuine period use and wartime character. An excellent display set for collectors of World War I U.S. Army militaria.
