Unissued Original Waffen SS Radio Operator Sleeve Diamond
An excellent mint unissued original Waffen SS Radio Operator sleeve diamond, executed in the desirable Dachau-style manufacture and remaining in outstanding condition throughout. These specialty sleeve diamonds were worn by SS communications personnel and radio operators responsible for maintaining field communications, transmitting orders, and operating radio equipment within Waffen SS formations and SS administrative units.
The insignia features a finely machine-embroidered radio signal/lightning bolt device in bright silver-gray thread on a ribbed black wool diamond backing. The embroidery remains exceptionally crisp and well defined, displaying tight stitching and excellent detail throughout. This unissued example is of the highly desirable Dachau-made variety, exhibiting characteristic period construction with proper ribbed black wool backing and white threaded reverse stitching.
Condition is mint/unissued overall, showing no signs of wear, uniform application, or period use. The black wool backing remains clean and firm with sharp edges, while the embroidered device retains its original bright appearance with no fading, fraying, or damage. The reverse displays the typical white threaded backing associated with period SS insignia manufacture.
